Aromatherapy Massage
 
Aromatherapy massage is a wonderfully relaxing therapy combining deeply soothing massage techniques with the use of beautiful essential oils. These oils are extracted from plants and have been used for thousands of years to benefit physical, mental and emotional health. Combine it with a sports/deep tissue massage to thoroughly diminish tightness and tension.
 
 
The oils are carefully selected and blended for each client by the aromatherapist into a skin nourishing base oil. The blend can have a stimulating or relaxing effect, it may have a particular therapeutic value for health, can be effective in releasing old stubborn tensions, or can simply be a combination of aromas that you like.

The effect of the essential oils being absorbed through the skin combined with a professional massage can be very relaxing, soothing and reinvigorating. The massage can include some deep tissue work or be more administered with a gentle approach, depending on your preferences and requirements.

The routine

 

 

The full-body aromatherapy massage routine begins with a back massage, easing out any tension and knots that you have there, followed by the back of the legs, after which you will be asked to turn over for a massage to the front of your legs and your feet, then abdomen, arms and hands, upper chest, shoulders and neck; if you request, I can massage your scalp and face which is a very soothing and deeply relaxing way to finish your massage (you may need to book a longer session to include this). Of course, this is not a strict routine and can always be adapted to suit you. For discretion, warmth and comfort you will be covered with towels during the massage; only the part being worked on will be uncovered. Your private parts are always kept covered and underpants should be worn. This routine should ideally be given 70 - 90 minutes.

 

The aromatherapy back, face and scalp massage begins with the back and shoulders to unknot any tension there, with attention directed particularly where needed; you will then turn over and be given a neck massage, followed by a facial massage to gently release and soften any tight, (wrinkle forming) face muscles. The session concludes with an uplifting scalp massage. The base oils used are chosen specifically for their skin improving elements and are blended with aromatherapy oils chosen for each client (eg some oils are popular and credited for their anti-ageing properties).
